I’ve been fascinated by car spoilers. So much so, I had considered creating a blog specifically for them. But time is money. Money may or may not run out, but time runs out for sure. So, I’ll keep my musings to Papa G’s website for brevity’s sake. Now, let me start off by saying that I’m not opposed to third party after-market products for cars, per se. Obviously, every person is (ah hem) unique in his or her own way. That said, to look at a spoiler like the one in the picture I am actually fascinated by the thought process behind it. It’s not unlike visiting a poor neighborhood where certain homes are decorated by a cheap wrought iron fencing or a driveway shaped in an inverted ‘U’ as if you’re driving up to your castle. They both mimic the idea of wealth by imitating the superficial elements. I’ve mentioned formula 1 racing in my other post. Of course the irony is that in racing, if they could figure out a way to make the car go faster without losing control and reducing the weight, they’d remove the spoiler.
